Compatible with the Sanwa JLW-TM-8 joystick and JLF series joysticks, this shaft extender increases the height of your joystick by 1.5cm.
Due to the longer length, the joystick will feel slightly lighter and it may be desirable to also increase the spring force.
For this we have 2 and 4 lb springs in our range and you will find them elsewhere in this section.

The 1.5cm shaft extender with M6 threading is suitable for all models below:
Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y(-SK)
Sanwa JLF-TP-8S(-SK)
Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT(-SK)
Sanwa JLF-TM-8T
Sanwa JLW-TM-8
Classic TM-8
Speed stick V2

Does what it is supposed to do - 29-11-2022 07:05

One thing in advance, I am writing this review in English to make it more accessible to all european customers.

I am from Germany and built my first own Arcade Cabinet from scratch at the end of 2022.

The tiresome topic of the length of the joystick. What I have long calculated back and forth to find the perfect length for the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT installed with me.
I screwed them from below to a 18mm thick multiplex board and embed the holding plate of the joysticks exactly 1,5mm. In addition, a 3 mm thick plexiglass pane was placed on the multiplex board later.

18 mm + 3 mm - 1.5 mm = 19.5 mm

So the standard joystick had a length of 19.5 mm between the top of the control board and the ball. That was way too short, so I bought two of these extenders.
The problem is that the travel of the joystick becomes too long and you rather have the feeling to operate the shift lever of an H-shift in a car.

Therefore, an intermediate solution was needed. I removed the original joystick rods and shortened them by exactly 8 mm. First I’ve turned off the complete thread and then 8mm from the point of support.
After that I drilled a 5 mm core hole and cut a M6 thread in the joystick rod. Then I put a M6x20 grub screw in it and the shortened version of the joystick rod was ready. By the way, I recommend to glue the whole thing with threadlocker.

Now everything fits perfectly and feels good when playing.
