Ultimarc U-Trak Pearl Arcade Trackball including USB Interface

With the development of the U-trak trackball, Ultimark has taken a good look at the wishes of arcade builders and this very nice trackball from the ground up
redesigned and made suitable for mounting in thick wooden control panels without screw heads at the top.
Where other trackballs are only suitable for steel panels or are difficult to mill in, installing the Ultimarc U-trak is a piece of cake.
Also the often bad, straight out of the box spinnability of many trackballs is absolutely out of the question with the U-trak.
The large 3 inch (76mm) track ball is of the highest quality and guarantees years of fun.

The Ultimarc U-Trak trackball comes with all necessary mounting materials, interface and USB connection cable.

Fixing methods:
4 Screws and expanding copper inserts are included. The inserts are designed to fit into "blind" holes and are not visible from the top of the panel.

Important note:
Check carefully beforehand that the supplied screws cannot pierce the top of the panel.
Adjust the length of the bolts if necessary.

Assembly without trim:
Use a hole saw or fly knife to drill a 82mm diameter hole.
Note that the vertical part of the housing is slightly cone-shaped due to the fact that one-piece production.
To ensure a perfect fit, the hole at the bottom needs to be filed or sanded a bit wider.

Mount the trackball with the arrow on the top of the housing facing the back of the panel. Drill 4 "blind" pilot holes through the mounting holes. Then remove the trackball and enlarge the holes to 1/4 inch (6mm). TIP: To drill blind holes, use the tape around the drill as a depth guide. Tap the expanding inserts into place. Install trackball and screw in place.

Mounting with trim:
The optimal panel thickness for this method is (17 mm). A 19mm panel can be used, but the flange will then be approximately 3mm above the ball rim. Use a hole saw to cut a hole approximately 86mm in diameter. If you only have a 90mm hole saw, this is also sufficient.

Then remove the trackball and enlarge the holes to 1/4 inch (6mm). Tap the expanding inserts into place. Install trackball and screw in place. Push the ring over the housing. Glue can be used if necessary

Connections (USB)
The USB interface supports left and right mouse buttons. Suitable wires with contacts are included in the "Mini-PAC Extension Harness Package" which can be ordered from the Mini-PAC section of our shop.
The black wire indicated in the image above is not used by the trackball. This is the left button connection.
The unused contact next to it is the right button connection.
The COM terminals of the mouse button switches must be connected to a suitable ground point (for example, an I-PAC ground or PC case).
